"That's... quite a shock," Alana says, in a tone which suggests she's fully aware that's a rather intense understatement. She can only imagine the sense of betrayal she would feel in a similar situation, of hurt and confusion and lingering grief despite the facts before her. The timing, she suspects, compounds matters.
